Description
Callie Knight is a singer songwriter from Wadley , Alabama who developed a love for music and singing at the early age of four. Initially singing only in church and at family gatherings, she eventually began performing with a local garage band at local festivals and functions and participating in vocal contests . Knight also worked on her performance skills as a member of both her high school and college show choirs.
After college, she moved to Florida to join the Gulf Coast Entertainment organization performing at local resorts and festivals in the Florida panhandle area.
While there, Callie was noticed by the band leader at Tootsies Orchid Lounge, who invited her to join Tootsies as a house singer. She did so and remained there for six years during which time she had the opportunity to network with local artists and guest artist from Nashville. Those connections led her to move temporarily to Nashville to help further hone her songwriting and performing skills.
Influenced by mainstream and traditional country artists with both southern rock and pop mixed in , Callie’s writing and singing offers a raw, authentic sound . Contemporary with a great deal of southern twang .
In addition to performing around the southeast , Callie has written and released several original tunes to streaming platforms .
She is currently working on a project with plans to record and release new music soon.
